John Deere Purse with a John Deere Button

Spring always reminds me of the John Deere crafts so while the husband is getting his John Deere ready for mowing.

Why not make yourself a John Deere Purse with a John Deere Button and some cut off blue jeans.

In reply to a comment earlier from ( Mel ) about having a John Deere button for the tooth fairy pillow.

I did find a picture of the purse I was talking about and it does have a John Deere button on it. And you all know I really would love to have that button in my collection.
I may just have to go on another button hunt! ;-)

Handmade Jewelry

Tonight’s Craft is for kids.

So I was trying to decide on a craft for tonight and thought well I have not had anything for kids in awhile.
So I decided to upload some tooth fairy pillows, they have a pocket to leave the tooth and a little poem for the Tooth Fairy.

When she takes the tooth and reads the poem she in return will leave a gift for the little one. And once again you must notice they both have sewing buttons on them! ;-)

Monogrammed Bath Tissue for Valentines Day! 

Someone ask me to do this a few years ago. (Thanks Connie!)

At first I thought NO WAY THAT WILL WORK!

Then I thought what the heck, I’ll give it a try and so here I go……..

First I tried to monogram a roll of my own bath tissue. (with no luck!)

Then the challenge was on, so off to the store I go to purchase a roll of the thickest quilted bath tissue I could find and a new pack of sharp sewing needles.

Back to the house and up to my sewing room.

I put the end of the roll of tissue into my monogram hoop.

I put a new sharp needle in my sewing machine.

Thread up my machine with red thread.

Got my design ready and started to sew my monogram. (I thought oh my, is this really going to work!)

After finishing the monogram I rolled the tissue back up and put it in a clear plastic bag, tied a red bow on it and….SHAZAM!

I had just turned out a pretty roll of monogrammed toilet paper.

I showed it to some of my customers and friends and can not believe the orders I have had for monogrammed bath tissue. ( This craft is not limited to Valentines Day.) :~)

Easy little girl purse idea.

Ok I know I have been a little slow on blogging lately, so tonight I have an easy to make little girl purse idea for you.


The purse is made from the leg of an old pair of blue jeans, the leg was already decorated with the appliqué and embroidered so all I had to do is cut off the leg sew up the bottom, hem the top and I added the rivets to put the ribbon through and I used some of the leftover fabric to make a handle. If you don’t want to do the rivets you could just sew on the ribbons at the top.

Hope this picture will give you some creative ideas.

And as always comments are welcome, it lets me know I have a reason to keep up with this blogging thing.

The little Owl that Couldn't

Baby Barred Owl

This is not a craft post it is just a sweet little story and picture about a Little Owl.

The little Owl that Couldn't and he really could not do anything for his self.

One Friday evening my husband and I were out in our back yard and I glanced over at something in one of our flower beds and I said to my husband look! What is that in the flower bed? We walked closer to see and there stood a little fuzz ball it was a little baby owl in our garden and he was all alone.

So we didn't know what to do and his mom was going from tree to tree watching over him and giving a hoot every now and then, so we decided it would be best leave nature alone and that mom would come to his rescue, thinking she would surly take him back to his nest.

Well the next morning we get up and the little fellow is still there in the same spot and we go down there and sit with him and he just sits there in the same spot. Sometimes he would give a big yawn and switch from one foot to the other.

We now decide that mom even though she is still watching him is not however going to rescue him.

Thank goodness for Google. We jump online and get the number for the Wildlife Rescue and they immediately came to his rescue. They said he would not have been rescued and he was very young would not have survived on his own.

The Wildlife Rescue took him and had him checked out and called us the next day and said he was going to be fine and would be taken good care of until he was ready to go out and make it on his own.

So if you ever see a little owl that is all alone don't give it food or water ( it could really hurt it ) and immediately call your Wildlife Rescue.

Oh how I love a rose!

Oh how I do love a rose. This is the first rose from our yard this year. I almost waited to long to take the picture, I added the ruler for you to see how big they are.


The bush this rose came from is a pretty old rose bush. The bushes were here before us and not doing so well so I moved them around and I think they like their new home and are doing very well.

Spring is here and so I will probably have more of the things I grow on the blog as we get into summer. So I hope you will enjoy seeing them.

A Red Horned Worm in your Garden!

Red Horn Worm or what we call a Tobacco Hornworm

Garden Time Again! Yes it's about that time of year.
You get that garden all planted and all of a sudden you realize you have a visitor, Oh My!
Keep an eye out for this Tobacco Worm as they can do a lot damage in a short time!
They have a really good appetite!  ;-)

In The Garden

Well Good Saturday Morning!
I am getting ready to weed the garden YEE HAW! That is if it is dry enough we have had 41/2 inches of rain here this week. Well this is not my favorite part of gardening but it will pay off later when I can make that first FRESH JUICY TOMATO SANDWICH you know the one that taste like a real tomato unlike the ones we have from the stores in the winter (my opinion of those is they are only for color.) Well I better get to it because we have a wedding to attend tonight and I will have a lot of scrubbing to do before I put on that little dress.

GERBER DAISY!

I have been busy in the yard and garden and I do love my fresh flowers. I am not the best in arranging flowers but I decided to do a Gerber Daisy and eucalyptus arrangement for my breakfast table one that wont need water.
I always look at the Gerber Daisy as a smiling flower!

Were does the time go?

Wow I can’t believe it has been over a week since I blogged anything! I have been really busy with the garden and this and that and about that deck chair I am over it!!! (LOL!)
We took a trip to the wonderful Blue ridge Mountains of Virginia stayed a couple of days with my mom, it really was good to see her and for those of you that know her story she is doing really great she is even sneaking in a stitch or two on her quilt.She has to be careful because her leg swells when she is up to much.
Well I have to run for now and hopefully will have something new to share soon!

Hello!

I have been working on the deck chair and don’t even ask how it is going like I said in my last post I think I may have opened up a large can of worms! But I haven’t given up on it!

Anyway today the hubby and I tilled and weeded our garden and bought some plants to put in. I can’t wait for the first fresh tomato. YUM!

Well I hope everyone is having a great weekend it is a beautiful one here!

Deck Chairs

I am just stopping by to say hey and that I am thinking about redoing my deck chairs and might have opened up a large can of worms! (That’s a saying from the Blue Ridge Mountains where I grew up.) Anyway if I don’t post a picture here later you will know why. (LOL!) So so wish me luck!
